Welcome to Ararat Friends Meeting
"I have called you friends . . ." (John 15:15)

The key to the development of Quakerism is the understanding of corporate guidance, which tests and informs individual leadings. At the heart of this is the meeting for worship where Christ, the Inward Light, is present and is met.
Faith and Practice (Britain Yearly Meeting)
Ararat Friends believes that we can all find unity in Scripture. Such unity, however, can only rest in the fact that the voice of Christ speaks to us in all the various witnesses. Ararat Friends strongly asserts its right to worship in the Christian-Quaker faith tradition free of an orchestrated committee, panel, board, or agency. And we just as strongly support the right of all monthly meetings to do likewise.

Established in 1924, Ararat Friends Meeting is a programmed meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, commonly called Quakers. We are located in west-central North Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Please take your time and browse our Website. Get to know the Quakers' rich Christian heritage as well as the history of Ararat Friends Meeting in the  History link. But we would really like for you to know us. Please  come and be warmly welcomed by our membership as we meet for  worship.
